Hobby Lobby Employee Arrested In Bizarre Case

Police: Incident Was False Report By Store Employee
BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- The Hobby Lobby employee who reported that she
was bound and then sexually assaulted by a man inside a Broomfield
store last month made the entire story up, police said Tuesday.

Police received a 911 hang-up call from inside the store at 5105 W.
120th Ave., before the store opened on Feb. 20.

When officers rushed to the scene, they found the back door open and
the female employee tied up inside. Lori Koehler told police that a
man sexually assaulted her and tied her to some of the store's
shelving.

Police said there were empty condom wrappers and rolls of tape strewn
around the woman when they found her.

Koehler, 37, was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of false
reporting and was booked into the Broomfield County Jail.

"We had schools calling about the lockdown. There was a lot of public
concern," said Sgt. Colleen O'Connell. "People were very afraid that
someone was running around in the area so we were very glad to be
able to get it resolved and find out there is no one out there posing
a danger."

O'Connell said no other arrests are planned in the case.
